I am a Site Reliability Engineer at the Google Dublin office. I joined Google in May 2011. Before Google I was a Senior Software QA Engineer at Cataphora in Redwood City, CA, USA, where I worked on Enterprise Software Test Automation. Before Cataphora I was a Senior Software Engineer at Textkernel in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where I worked on multiple webmining applications.

I hold a Masters Degree in Computer Science (Dipl.-Informatiker Univ.) and a PhD (Dr. rer nat) in Computer Science from the University of Passau. From 1994 to 2005 I was a Research Assistant and Lecturer at the Linguistics Department of the University of Passau. My research interests are information extraction from text and text classification. I am also interested in mining interesting information from the web.
