Another strong indicator of the quality of a source of information is the balance and fairness of the perspective of that source. Supporting an opinion does not necessarily mean a source is not objective, and a good writer uses fact and analysis to convey a point. However, the author's balance in their use of facts can indicate the quality of the information they convey. A source who equivocates and only shows evidence for one particular side of an argument should not be trusted as much as a source who discusses multiple perspectives of an issue. |
