Who am I? I live in Christchurch, New Zealand and I am the research director for a large trade union, the EPMU. The EPMU is the largest private sector Union in New Zealand and is affiliated to a number of organisations, including the NZ Council of Trades Union and the Labour Party. I am the EPMU representative on the NZ Council of Trade Unions Out at Work council and am also the co-convenor for this council, the representative structure for the LGBTI community within the union movement. Part of my responsibility is updating their web page so please pop along and see what the news is around New Zealand and world: http://union.org.nz/outatwork. You can read the Archived Articles on this web page by clicking here.
I am also the Convenor for Unions Canterbury, the NZCTU representative on the Lincoln University Council, and I am the Chair of the Kate Sheppard Memorial Trust, where I also represent the NZCTU.
I have been personally involved with the Labour Party for a number of years now and was proud to be part of the team that first got Tim Barnett elected and then Brendon Burns elected at the Christchurch Central MP. I hold a number of positions within the Labour Party as well:
I sometimes wonder where my day goes!!!
Just because I love to be busy, I am also a domestic dog trainer with Canterbury Canine Obedience Club and I run two domestic courses for the club each year on a Sunday afternoon. I also love taking photographs and have undertaken a couple of photographic courses to try and improve my skills (any improvement is a good thing!). Anyway, I have posted some of my pictures from my last course. If you are interested, you can see some of them here.
