Welcome to Kanipaan gamefarm website!

My fascination with gamefowls started when I was still a kid. My father is a sabong aficionado where Sunday rituals in the cockpit is a weekly must for him. My older brother raised some chickens since my childhood days but at that time there were no particular bloodlines since we don’t know what breed we had or shall we call it GOK (God Only Knows) line and they were raised in our backyard. When my brother went abroad, I was the one who took care of his fowls but unfortunately most of the fowls that my brother left me died of disease which I could not figure-out due to my ignorance at that time. In my frustration, I stopped rearing the remaining fowls and gave it away. When my brother was back from abroad, again he started breeding. The materials he used were given to him from my uncle who is now deceased (peace be upon his soul). Those were the straight comb red with lemon hackled green legged type fowls. Then on the mid-90’s our eldest brother came home from the US and brought some eggs that he bought from various breeders in California. 7 out of 30 eggs where hatched. Those where the cobra asil, hatch, kelso & grey (as per the markings on the eggs). My brother raised those chicks and later on he produced some good battle fowls. These new produced fowls out of the imported eggs refreshed the sabungero blood in me coz every time my brother fought those fowls he would always asked me to bet every time I will go home for my vacation since I was already working at that time. My brother’s fowl winning percentage was high so I was hooked on betting his fowls. However, on the back of my mind I was already waiting for the right moment for me to breed my own. For me the excitement and thrill will be more if you are fighting your own fowls.

The year was 2001 when I decided to put-up my own breeding operation for my own consumption. We utilized the small piece of land that was a share of my father that was abundant with nipa (used for nipa huts) palms and we developed it into a small gamefowl breeding and cording area. Also the same year, I acquired my first trio from Super SS Gamefarm and from there the Kanipaan Gamefowls were born….
