Product Preparation Process (3P)

A product preparation process approach is a team approach to develop products (concept & design development) and production processes which will deliver:
 
  • The expected quality
  • At the required volume
  • For the lowest cost
  • In the shortest time (shortest lead-time of product time to market).

It is a design methodology for designing products for assembly, manufacturing and service from an operator’s perspective

 

With the 3P team activities we can reduce lead times for new product introductions, eliminates cash drains in development (including excess investment in tooling and machinery) and improves profitability through minimizing design changes and taking advantage of improvement opportunities in production (ensuring ease of manufacture and assembly of the product).
