Ergonomics is the science of the relationship between human and machines. It concerns with the design of the machines and the working environment that are safe, comfortable and efficient to use by human.  A shopfloor/process designed with ergonomic concept will avoid accidents, minimize human errors as well as greatly improve work efficiency and morale of operators.
