The cornerstone of my class philosophy comes from Lev Vygotsky’s theory on Socio-Cultural Development. I am a firm believer that a student’s society and culture influence the way they learn and develop. In my classroom I will work with each student in order to create a learning environment that best suits their needs and accommodates their different backgrounds. One thing that I have learned from my course of study and from working with students is that they all learn differently. One way that I plan on teaching these students is by getting to know who they are and what they have experienced. I will modify my methods of helping these students by tying in their background knowledge and beliefs.
