Fresh strawberries from the garden.  Fresh strawberries served on rum-soaked pound cake and topped with cream.  Life is good.

We went to the airport today to see the old warbirds from the Wings of Freedom Tour land.  The planes on tour include a B-17 Flying Fortress, a B-24 Liberator, a B-25 Mitchell and a P-51C Mustang.  My dad is a hard-care airplane nut and was a Corsair mechanic in the Marines, so some of his affection for these old girls has rubbed off on me.  Love the sound of those big ol' engines!

The dogwoods are blooming big again this year.  Spork did an informal count on one side of our property and counted 87 blooming trees.  It's a pretty impressive show, but my camera skills don't do them justice.

It's a dirty job...

So sometime last summer, the show Dirty Jobs came to our town and filmed an episode about installing a roadside billboard.  Since it's one of my favorite shows on tv (and because Mike Rowe is so hot), I feel I should have been notified beforehand.  Unfortunately, that didn't happen, but we did drive by the billboard this week and I talked Spork into stopping long enough to get a picture of the place Mike Rowe had once been.  Sigh.

Attention Spork :

Re: The malicious destruction of personal property of and attempted bodily harm of Ellie Mae.

 Be advised the preponderance of the evidence available* clearly demonstrates the willful and malicious activities of Spork, who while driving his goat truck, Sally, on the morning of January 15, 2008, did hereby back into Ellie Mae's flower pot and uproot her pansies.  Furthermore, Spork planted a deadly I.P.D. (Improvised Poisonous Device) to be detonated when Ellie Mae uprighted her pansies, as Spork knew she would do forthwith. 

 This infringing action constitutes a deliberate form of harassment and ill-will by Spork and Ellie Mae seeks restitution for her pain and suffering and emotional distress.

 Apparently I'll never be a hard-core blogger, as it's been months since my last update.  I'd like to say that it's because my life is so exciting and busy that I haven't had time, but laziness is more likely to blame.

I don't want to even try to recap everything from the last few months, but I do want to point out that I added a link to my Picasa picture page over on the left.  

We survived both rounds of Thanksgiving again this year.  I don't want to seem biased, but I have to give my family the win in the competition because we had 5 pies, booze and a party-crashing, clothes-wearing dog.
