Research Resources

Research can be an overwhelming experience, but with the right planning, a successful experience for this and future assignments.  Requirements for research projects vary by teacher, but most students use a combination of books, databases, and websites.  The OWL at Purdue is a great online reference for writing a research paper beginning to end.

MLA 7

Jefferson West High School uses the MLA citation format, 7th edition.  There are a variety of resources available in today's society, which means there are many ways that resources are cited.  It is VERY IMPORTANT IN ACADEMIC WORK to properly cite where you have gotten your information, both within your text and on your works cited page.  Here is a very useful link showing proper MLA 7 format for a variety of resources. Also, the OWL at Purdue is an excellent resource for both MLA style, MLA examples and help with research and writing.
