2009 "This is Texas" photo contest winners

The Winners of the 2009 "This is Texas" photo contest, hosted by the Grand Lodge of Texas History Committee, have been announced.

The winner of the contest was JASON REES of
GRAHAM LODGE NO. 20 for his interesting work in black and white and silhouettes.

Master Mason Degree

Brethren,

A Master Mason degree will be conferred by University Lodge 1190 in the Senate Chamber of the State Capital in Austin on Saturday, Sept. 19th at 9 am. There will be a representation of the Grand Lodge opened at 9 am followed by the degree. The candidate is a member of the Texas Legislature.

All Master Masons are invited to attend and are asked to arrive EARLY, bring an APRON and a CURRENT dues card and Photo ID.

The Senate chamber is located on the second floor, east of the rotunda. Public parking is available at 12th and San Jacinto. Current security procedures do NOT allow cars to drive through and drop passengers off, so plan on a considerable walk to the building. Access with the shortest walk is probably on Brazos between 12th and 13th.

Please help get the word out about the degree to anyone you think might be interested in attending.

Fraternally,

Grand Lodge of Texas Internet Committee

Installation of Officers

The installation of officers for the ensuing Masonic year was held on July 3rd, 2009.

We closed the Lodge of Sorrow at 5:30 and then met with our families and guests for a patriotic themed meal on floor 3M.

After the meal we all returned to the lodge room to begin the installation ceremony.

Be sure to check our OFFICERS PAGE to see all our new officers.

Also, you can CLICK HERE to view all the pictures from the event.
