Welcome Back to School Happy Spring  Dear Students and Families, I hope everyone is ready to be back at school for your last nine weeks of first grade. We still have a lot of work to do so I am excited to tell you that we are going to have a "Space Odyssey Home Reading Program" that will begin on Friday, April 20th. Look for information in your Friday Folder. You can peek at the details of this program by going to the "Helpful Information" page of this website and clicking on a link at the bottom of the page. We are going to be learning about 3-D Shapes in Math this month. If you have items at home that would teach us about these shapes please send them to school for our “Shape Museum: Example: Pringles cans or oatmeal containers are cylinders. We are looking for cylinders, cubes, cones, and rectangular prisms. We are beginning a new behavior system. If your child has three or less “behavior reminders” all week long, on Friday they will get to choose a coupon as a reward. They may bring the coupon home to show to you or leave it in the basket in their desk. They need to have the coupon to give to me the next week in order to “pay” me for their reward.We are running low on school supplies in the classroom. If you are able to send a bottle of glue, large or small glue sticks, stick or pencil top erasers or disinfectant wipes I would really appreciate it. I could also use inexpensive clipboards, used CD players, and a used DVD player (with a remote that can be used to forward to the section of the DVD that I need). need paper grocery bags for Earth Day playground clean-up. This is also Spring Picture Day.
