Judith K. Buckley lives and works in Athens, Georgia and is a member of the Athens Art Association and the Oconee County Arts Foundation (OCAF).
Since childhood, Judith K. Buckley has been interested in art. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Buckley graduated from the University of Cinncinati with degrees in fine arts and education. A former high school art instructor, she has furthered her own artistic studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. She is currently teaching oil painting and has been doing so for more than a decade. Buckley has participated in several painting workshops with regionally and nationally recognized painters. Areas of interest include horses, landscapes, portraits and still lifes. Most of her landscape painting is done on location, where she captures the impressionistic effects of natural light and atmosphere. The recipient of top awards in several regional exhibits, Buckley's work can be seen in many private collections throughout the eastern United States. Her painting of the antebellum President's Mansion at the University of Alabama Currently hangs in the Alabama State House in Montgomery. Her portrait of Dr. Norman Singer hangs in the University of Alabama Law School building.
