Troupe #4558 of the International Thespian Society welcomed ten new members, recognized nine Honor Thespians, and said goodbye to seven graduating seniors. Being a thespian is an exemplary accomplishment, and we applaud these students for their contributions to theatre arts. Using this model, the W.H.S. Theatre program seeks to meet the following goals:
SEASONW.H.S. Theatre produces two full-length productions each year: a play in the fall and a musical in the spring. Productions are selected with a four-year vision to provide students with opportunities to participate in a variety of performance styles and play genres. Membership is based on the I.T.S. point system, equivalent to 100 hours of performance and technical theatre! Troupe #4558 attends Ohio area and state Thespian conferences, recognizes "Honor Thespians" for continued achievement, awards an annual scholarship, and promotes the benefits of theatre arts in our academic and cultural communities. SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIESMuselin Memorial Scholarship This new scholarship opportunity is named for Linn Muselin ('90) and is awarded to a student who has shown leadership in and commitment to W.H.S. Drama. Linn was a charter member of Thespian Troupe #4558, served as the troupe's first president, and created sets for W.H.S. Drama productions. Anyone wishing to contribute to the scholarship may contact Director Jason Hamen for more details. Troupe #4558 Scholarship A portion of annual fundraisers for Troupe #4558 is reserved to award a deserving senior who represents the ideals of the International Thespian Society. It is a unique scholarship, in that it is given to students by students. Troupe members interested in applying must submit a letter to the troupe describing their qualifications by May. |
