This is my brother, dog, and I.

My name is Mandie Starks. I am 15 years old. My birthday is April 24. I go to school at Christian Community High School and I'm in 9th grade. I like to drag race. I race a Jr. Dragster. I was the 2005 champion at my home track, and was the runner-up in 2004. I also take karate. I'm a first degree black blelt and I've been taking karate since I was five. I enjoy coming to SEMAA because I enjoy building things and I really like math. I also get to spend time with my friends. This also gives me something to do on Saturdays.

On Jan. 27 I got to use a band saw for the first time. It was kinda neat. I also got to use a belt sander for the first time. Mr. Billy and I put the front wheels onto the robot. I had tons of fun!!!

Feb. 3

Mr. Billy and I put the chains and the back wheels onto the robot, but we couldn't finish it because we didn't get the gears. We built a model of the "spider" out of a basketball goal and extra pieces of pipes. Some of the guys started to put the electronics on. Kendall, Mr. Billy, and I started to build the shipping case also.

Feb 10

Today we built the shipping crate. Nikki, Mr.Billy, and I had a great time building it. They locked Nikki and I in it while we were on the inside working on it. We are still waiting on the gears to get in. We can't finish the tires until we get them.
