DIY Stuff

Ring Pillow

Well I never thought I would have to start a DIY web page, but here it is. The more planning I do, the more I want to make things myself. It's so difficult to find the exact thing you are looking for and I never want to settle, so I've taken the DIY route for many of the wedding details.

I saw this idea in a Martha Sewart magazine and wanted it so bad, I taught myself how to knit.

Here was my inspiration:

Cake Topper

I fell in love with the crystal initial cakes toppers when I saw them because they are so "untraditional" but stylish so I decided I would definitely purchase one. Then, bio after bio I saw that many girls make them on their own, so I started to consider that option because it looked like fun. THEN I found Mye's Blog. She has instructions for every aspect to making one, including ordering the crystals, to getting the wooden letter, everything. All that was left for me was to randomly place the crystals!! So, here it is:

I used silk colored swarovski crystals, since I am using ivory, blue and chocolate brown colors throughout. The letter is chopin script font and Eddy is so crafty that her was able to make the middle line on the F a little longer so it wouldn't look like a T. So if you want to give it a shot, here is the link to Mye's Blog: DIY Cake Topper
