Art: Art class will be every other Wednesday, next class 11/18.
Computer Lab: lab will alternate with Art class, every other Wednesday. Students will be starting research for States Social Studies report.
ELD: ELD rotation is 4 days a week (not on Wednesdays), 10:00-10:45.
GATE: Math Olympiad is Fridays, 11:30 - 12:15. Thanks to Mrs. Ostman & Mrs. Smolich for teaching the class
Math: We are studying Unit 6 Multiplication with decimals. Test for Unit 6 will be Monday 11/23. Unit 9,
prime factorization,
test on Thursday 11/19. 1st Trimester Benchmark Test, which will be on Wednesday, 11/18.
Music: Wednesdays, 9:30 - 10:30, students should bring instruments and lesson books. Instrumental students should practice 90 minutes a week. They should record this in their lesson books.
PE is on Tuesdays and Fridays 1:55 - 2:40. Please remember that students need to wear clothes and shoes appropriate for exercise.
Reading: Reading logs are due on Mondays. Students have their reading log for this week. Goal is at least 1/2 hour per day. Parents should sign reading log.
We will visit library on Wednesday mornings, 11:45 - 12:15.
Students should start taking Accelerated Reader quizzes on books they have read. Students were given a 9 week point goal, up to Christmas Break. Log in page is: http://rp.mvwsd.org/RenaissanceServer/
Science: Will be on Thursdays and Fridays. Life Systems is the first area of study. Currently studying nutrition. Thanks to parents who helped on the lab experiments last Friday and this Monday.
Social Studies: Is on Mondays & Tuesdays. We have finished Unit 1 of text, The First Americans. We have started Unit 2, Age of Exploration. Students received topics & guidelines for States report which will be due by Thanksgiving.
Spelling: Each quiz will have 15 words. Students need to write definitions and minimum 5 times each. We will review definitions on Mondays. Quizzes will be on Tuesdays, and new words on Wednesdays. Next quiz will be 11/18 & 11/25. No new spelling words during Thanksgiving.
Writing: Language Arts Benchmark test will be Tuesday, 11/17. No current assignments except for States Report.
