Vegas, Baby, Vegas! May 26-May 28, 2006
Memorial Day weekend with the Dwarves in sin city. How can a place be so smutty and so classy at the same time? It's amazing. So, the girls and I were driving down the strip, and on the sidewalk, there were these two fellas walking with margaritas. This is not an uncommon sight in Vegas, but these margaritas were GINORMOUS! We're talkin maybe four feet tall. They have to attach it to an arm sling to help carry it. Aw man, only in Vegas.
"Hey, guy! How much was that!"
"Thirty-eight!"
"Woohoo! Where at?!"
"In that HUT over there!"
"AWESOME!"
Actually, I did not get drunk the entire weekend. I know, unheard of. So, my little sister calls me around midnight Saturday night right before the girls and I head to a nightclub and she says, "Hey, are you drunk?" I'm not. She's surprised. "But, aren't you in VEGAS?!" Yes. Apparently, if you're in Vegas, it's required that you're drunk at all times. "Damn, well, I'm calling because I'M drunk. And I wanted to talk to you while we were both drunk." Too bad. That would have been awesome. I think it's the second time she's ever gotten drunk. The first time was... guess where... Yeah. Vegas. Gotto love it!
The Vegas Dwarves: Grumpy and Bashful on the sides being ghetto and Sleepy and Happy (me) doing God knows what to Doc. Sneezy, Dopey, and Snow White, we missed you. You were with us in spirit.

Everyday Love
It takes a night to make it dawn
And it takes a day to make you yawn brother
It takes some old to make you young
It takes some cold to know the sun
It takes the one to have the other
I was walking back to work after lunch on this very warm spring day and I came across this elderly couple huddled together under an umbrella (for shade). He was holding the umbrella to cover them both and she was holding his arm. They scuttled slowly down the sidewalk together, hesitating apprehensively in front of the Zankou Chicken restaurant when the trash truck backed out of the driveway in front of them, and then again at the animal hospital when they spotted a german shepherd heading their direction. They moved as one, not he and she, but they, the elderly couple under the umbrella. The sight made my heart warm at the same time it made me afraid.
They are the lucky ones.
And it takes no time to fall in love
But it takes you years to know what love is
And it takes some fears to make you trust
It takes those tears to make it rust
It takes the dust to have it polished
As
I walked on, I noticed a woman sitting under a tree with her two
dogs. A Saint Bernard and a Siberian Husky. They lied in the grass in
the cool shade. It looked lazy and wonderful.
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Girls' night out: Young Alumni Reunion, May 20, 2006
We were definitely hogging the photo booths. Could you blame us? Pauley was packed. There were people dancin' to the Thong Song (omg, remember that song??), people gambling and winning iPods, people dipping strawberries into the CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN (!!!), people lining up at the bar for their FREE DRINKS, and there we were. Photo booth. Good times.
