Jamboree on the Air (JOTI)

Welcome!

What is Jamboree-on-the-Air (JOTA)?
The JOTA is an annual event in which Scouts and Guides all over the world speak to each other by means of Amateur radio contacts. Scouting experiences are exchanged and ideas are shared, via the radio waves.

When is JOTA?
The 52nd Jamboree On The Air will take place on 17 and 18 October 2009. Please mark your diaries.

Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) is a separate event to Jamboree on the Air (JOTA), but is held on the same weekend. JOTI connects Scouts on the internet through Scout-operated Internet chat rooms such as ScoutLink as well as MSN, email, webpages, blogs… you can even use voice communication! You can take part in JOTI as a Group, Patrol or individually at home.

The theme this year is “Be prepared to respect and value the environment: Tackle Climate
Change Challenge (3C) with Computer and Communication (2C) Technologies
”. In addition to the
traditional JOTA activities, elements of living green will also be introduced, so that participants
may not only make contact to overseas scout members via telecommunication facilities, but will
also learn more about making good use of 2C technologies to face the problems of 3C
