To whom it may concern,

As Vice President of Development at Interzone Entertainment LLC, I oversee the operations of the company’s primary development studio in Perth, Western Australia. In this capacity, I had the pleasure of working with Joseph B. Hewitt during 2008 and 2009 on our flagship title, Interzone Futebol. Joseph parted on very amicable terms and he will be sorely missed.

Joseph brought a wealth of experience to our studio, and was able to enact substantial important changes by combining this with his good nature, commitment, and balance of pragmatism and assertiveness as required. The effect of these qualities is made plain by objective assessment of the effect he has had on our company and game.

When Joseph joined Interzone:

  1. Our game was sorely lacking in cohesive game design. It was far too complex and plainly not really that much fun to play.
  2. The Design team had very poor relationships with the other teams (particularly the Programming team). This resulted in low productivity and bitter feelings.
  3. The Development and Corporate teams were not bought into a single unified vision for our game.

 When Joseph left Interzone:

  1. Our game design has been completely overhauled and the entire company appreciates the vast improvements. These changes were absolutely necessary.
  2. The Design team is well-respected, approachable, and effectively works with all other teams. Our new Lead Designer has benefited immensely from Joseph’s ego-less mentorship.
  3. All staff members have a clear idea of the game we are making and the directions we will take the game in the future.

Joseph is always willing to face new challenges and we have greatly benefited from his time here. I have no reservations in offering my highest personal recommendation.

Best Regards,
Nick Lowe
Vice President of Development
