In early 2006 I applied to the U.S. Coast Guard's Blue 21 program. If I am accepted, I'll be sent to Officer Candidate School and then to flight school. In exchange for getting to fly military aircraft, save lives, etc., I will have an 11 year commitment to the Coast Guard. If I make it that far I'll probably be in until I can retire.
