Mediterranean and Spanish wine

Trapadell

Trapadell is a minority grape which was used in ancestry times to reduce the percentage of alcohol in the red giro. It is an unknown grape and there are no grapes in the rest of Spain, which could be consider from the same family. Therefore, my family has replant it since they do not want that this specific type of grape disappear.

Interestingly, Trapadell has appeared in some texts from the XVII century, in which they mentioned that this specific grape was brought to Spain by the Trapens monks from Burgundy. The characteristics of this wine is white with a lower alcohol graduation, with fruity and tropical aromas and some bitter flavours in mouth. This year the new experiment is to ferment it in oak barrels.
