Obama's presidential induction ceremony

His presidential induction ceremony was characterized with a simple lunch, nothing spectacular, to fight the crisis. The lunch took place in the Statuary Hall with the vicepresident and other members of his administration, the Supreme Court, the Congress leaders and all their families. All wines selected for this lunch are from California, however, the selection does not include famous wines from Napa, nor are strong Cabernets. Some of the famous wineries not selected are Colgin, Araujo, Screaming Eagle, Montelena, Mondavi, Beringer, Phelps among others. He has not selected Zinfandel, something considered more endemic to California. The selected winery is Duckhorn Vineyards, a prestigious but less famous winery which has donated 10 boxes for this event. The sparkling wine is from Korbel from Russian River ($15), which has particpated in the induction ceremonies since 1985.

The Seafood and veggies dish had as wine Sauvignon Blanc from Napa Valley, 2007 ($20). On the other hand, the pheasant and duck dish was served with a Pinot Noir from Anderson Valley, 2005, named Goldeneye ($30).
Duckhorn Vineyards is selling a box with both wines in order to celebrate this historical event for $95.
This simple and austere menu was inspired in Lincoln taste, Obama wanted to homage him celebrating the 200 years of Lincoln's birth.
