Teacup Poodle Information
What you need to know!
Are you thinking about a TEACUP PUPPY?
1: Teacups are born very small usually 2oz and under. they require alot of care for several weeks, And generally are not ready for new home til around 12 weeks.
2; Teacups weight can depend on the amount of food you feed them and the contents of the food. And amount of times a day they eat.
3: I will never guarentee a weight because weight depends on how much you feed and HOW OFTEN you let them feed. (I will however give you an aprox weight that I expect.)
4: Make sure your getting a PURE BRED POODLE not a cross breed. Poodles, good QUALITY poodles have a sharp scissor mouth . Look for that.
5: Height is another thing you want to look at, Most of the time Teacups are Tall (long Legs) But height is what counts on teacups they must be less than 8inches at full grown. That is from the Highest point of shoulder to the bottom of the foot(paw)
6: Health is more important than weight!!!! I NEVER under feed my teacups to get a "Lower"weight!!!
7: Make sure you get a CURRENT picture of the Puppy your purchasing..Not an old one. You need to know what the puppy looks like NOW, not what is did at birth or at 4 or 5 weeks of age!
8: Feed puppies and adults Puppy food for at least for 1 year.
9: Teacups and small Toy Poodles should remain on Puppy food for life. Unless your VET advises different.
10: TEACUPS by 12 weeks You will have a good feeling on your puppy's height and weight by that age. Remember how much they eat and when does make a difference.
11: Its not a good IDEA to breed a female Teacup less than 4lbs. They can't pass puppy's very easily when they are that small. Cesarean section will cost up to $1,000 AND COULD RESULT IN YOUR FEMALES DEATH!
12: Poodles tend to lighten up on their color as they get older
13: Keep in mind the smaller the more you will pay.
14: I tend to think that the smaller they are the smarter they are!!
15: I always let my puppies eat when they want. They have a food dish that is easily accesible for them any time they want to eat.
16. I would not recommend a teacup with small children around. I would wait until the kids are older. they are very delicate and could beeasily step on, they are just as active as the bigger breed but I still would advise to wait on a teacup until your kids are at the 8 and 9 age area.
