Their Descendants

In 1933, Dora Zink Kellogg authored The Zink Families in America (Omaha: Citizen Publishing Co.), which traced the descendants of several Zink families in the United States.  Chapter 10 of the book (pages 227-245) dealt with the family of John and Mary Elizabeth Zink, and four generations of their descendants were listed in that chapter.

In the years leading up to publication of the book, the descendants of John Zink assisted Ms. Kellogg in the collection of information about the family.  Milton Zink of Toledo, Ohio, coordinated the effort.  He prepared a questionnaire that was given or mailed to representatives of all branches of the family.  On each questionnaire, Mr. Zink typed information that he already knew, and he asked the recipient to make additions and corrections and to return the questionnaire.

Mr. Zink kept all of the questionnaires that he sent out and received back.  In addition, he kept his handwritten notes and the correspondence he received from other family members during this project.   This material is useful because it often contains supplemental details, such as addresses, that were not published in the Kellogg book.  Mr. Zink's files are now in my possession; they are too voluminous to scan and publish, but I would be happy to share the information in them with Zink descendants.
