We have been dancing for 32 years and teaching for the last 12 years. We presently teach in Salem, Oregon; Rickreall, Oregon; and Garibaldi, Oregon. We enjoy teaching all levels, Phase 2-6, and do several Rhythm Clinics a year at the Salem Square Dance Center. We are the club cuer for Rounds aRe Us.
Twice a year we sponsor two dance events with Rounds aRe Us. The first one in May is the Spring Spectacular and in October the Autumn Spectacular. If you click on these names you will find the current flier. Preregistration is recommended. Both events have guest Teachers. In May 2012, Kristine and Bruce Nelson will be teaching Phase 4-5 and in October, George and Pamela Hurd will be teaching the Phase 5-6. event. Join us for a fun 3 days with your favorite requests at night and clinics for styling and technique.
The third weekend of November every year we are one of the featured teachers at their Fall Fling in Garibaldi, Oregon, which features two Phase 4 teaches. Our partners in this event are Ken and Dianne Pratt. We felt there was a need for special events for Phase 3-4, and have worked toward providing time for those dancers.
Several party dances are held each month at the Salem Square Dance Center. The "Let's Dance" event is every 2nd and 4th Friday for Phase 3-4 dancers with Prerounds Phase 4-5 from 6:30-7 pm and Phase 3-4, 7-9 pm, the 2nd Saturday is Rounds aRe Us "Sizzling Saturday" dance, program is Prerounds Phase 5-6, 6:30-7 pm and 7-9 pm Phase 3-4-5.
Rounds aRe Us has a spectacular New Year's Eve event, Candlelight Reflections Catered Dinner/Dance. This is held at the Polk County Fairgrounds, Arts and Crafts Building. John and Suzette cue at this dance with a another guest cuer. You must preregister for this event, the flier is under the flier link above.
Our classes are at the Salem Square Dance Center on Monday evenings with a new rhythm introduced and a Phase 3-4 Dance/Workshop, as well as Thursday evenings a Phase 3-4 Dance/Workshop; followed by our Club, Rounds Are Us,
Phase 4-5-6 dance/Workshop. Call for current times and rhythms being taught.
We are members of the Oregon Round Dance Teachers Association and Suzette is the Treasurer for that organization and we have held other positions in the past. We are also on the Board for ICBDA (International Choreographed Ballroom Dance Association). We are also members of ROUNDALAB.
Our passion is teaching and dancing. Watching new dancers master their figures and enjoy dancing is our reward. We hope to see many of you at an event soon.
