Below please find a list of each of the PTA Committees and their descriptions. If you would like to volunteer for a specific committee contact the chairman for that committee by Clicking Here. Or just fill in the Volunteer form below and send into school with you student.Camera Crew/Picture Day: The Camera Crew attends school events and takes pictures for the yearbook, newspaper and PTA bulletin boards. You will also be asked to help out on picture day. The pictures days are in the fall and spring.
Campbells/Box Tops: There will be Box Top moms for each classroom. You will be asked to help the teacher encourage the students to bring in their box tops. You will also be asked to count the box tops that are handed in.
Community Outreach: Works with the committee chair to help organize events like the Thanksgiving can-a-thon and the Christmas Joy tree.
Copying: You will give the days and hours you can volunteer to the committee chair. You will be asked to copy, laminate, hole punch etc… for the teachers. The committee chair will help train you if needed.
Environmental: You will be asked to help empty the recycling bins that are around the school. You will also be asked to help collect, rise and count juice pouches from the lunchroom. Also you may be asked to help clean up the outside classroom.
Exceptional Children: You will be asked to help with tutoring students before and after school.
Fall Festival: Volunteers will help out at different booths during this event. The event is usually held on a Saturday for 3 hours. Volunteers are asked to work in shifts.
Family Fun: You may be asked to help with different family event throughout the year. You would help with both organizing it and volunteer the day of the event. These may consist of, movie night, bingo, sweet heart dance ect…
General Volunteers: (Parent Involvement): These are parents who are asked to help out where needed with different events throughout the school year. The committee chair will call you when needed.
GCRCT Snacks: You will be asked to help organize and give out snacks for the GCRCT testing day. This event is in April.
Health & Safety: This committee consists of both Red Ribbon Week (Oct. 24th-29th) and any Anti-bullying events. You will be asked to help organize the event and then possibly volunteer the day of the events.
Hispanics: There may be some students and parents that will need help with translating. You may be called upon during the year as needed.
Honor Roll Breakfast: At the end of each 9 week marking period there is an Honor Roll breakfast ( 3 throughout the year). You will be asked to help give out refreshments during these times.
Ice Cream: Ice cream is sold on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:30am until about 12:00pm. The shift is done by one volunteer. This involves selling ice cream in the lunchroom. This also involves handling money from students. Each month you will give the committee chair the days you can work.
Literacy: During the school year volunteers will be ask to help in the Media Center checking in books and shelving them. You may also be asked to help out with 2 book fairs during the year. There also may be students that need help with reading during the year.
PTA Membership: Volunteers will be asked to help the committee chair to spread the word about how important it is to be a PTA member.
Reflections: This is a nation-wide program designed to recognize the artistic talents of our students. You will be asked to help the committee chair get the word out about the program to the students and parents.
Spirit Day/Concessions: You will be helping with Spirit Days and other events throughout the year, popping, bagging and delivering popcorn. You will also help sell candy, soda etc… at different events.
Spirit Wear: You will help the committee chair sell spirit wear gear at school events throughout the year.
Staff Appreciation: You will help set up, serve and clean up at Staff and Teacher Appreciation luncheons throughout the year.
Veterans Day Breakfast: On Veteran’s Day, you will help set up, serve, and clean up at the breakfast. You may also be asked by the committee chair to help organize the event.
