4th graders begin the year with a review and a study of polygons. 5th graders will begin the year thinking about factors, prime and composite numbers, arrays and place value. Students should be practicing basic math facts at every opportunity, so that they become automatic. Students have passwords to practice Everyday Math games online. Students should be bringing home a Parent Letter at the beginning of every unit. There will be math homework daily and students will be creating a math notebook that they should be studying from throughout the unit.
