Work Information "You have to learn WHY things work on a Starship." -- "Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan" Current Position: Senior Software Engineer (aka Teradactyl) for Teradata Corporation (since 1990). I specialize in all phases of multi-terabyte data warehouse architectures, using the Teradata RDBMS. I am currently working in Teradata R&D for the Teradata Partner Integration and Technical Consulting (TPITC) group, supporting ISVs that access Teradata as part of their application. Immediately prior to my position in R&D I was a Principal Consultant in the Teradata Retail Industry. I also have very extensive experience in Communications Industry data warehouses. And I’m a Teradata Certified Master V2R5. E-mail to request my resume. A terabyte in this context means a terabyte of raw user data -- not just the size of the DASD farm. I have worked at sites that now have up to a petabyte (1,000 terabytes) of DASD in one Teradata configuration. At the Teradata Partners Users Conference I have jointly presented "Advanced SQL Techniques for Single Pass Ordered Analytical Functions."
