Q. What the hell is a backwoodz tuner? And why you call your self that? 

A. Well before you get to Cali street scene  or  Seattle Washingtons street scene  the interstate 5 is the freeway connecting em together , and what you got  between them is tha  backwoodz, and   unfortunately for me  it's where i call home. Where I got  the whole Backwoodz Tuner nick name came  from an old forum i use to chill  at, The Acura Integra Forums. It no longer exists , unfortunately 4 me but i've kept my nick name

cause it's original, and nick-names are givin not chosen They gave me that name from jus the way i do stuff workin on cars and such, they use to call it ghetto, but there ain't no ghetto in my parts jus the Backwoodz. lol

Also when you live in a county that claims to be the Grass Seed capitol of the world you know your in the freakin sticks!!!

YEAH THE VETTE IS PROBABLY BONE STOCK, BUT GETTIN SPANKED BY A 4 CYLINDER  THATS BOUT 10 YEARS OLDER  AND PUT OUT ON THE MARKET AS AN ECONOMICAL VEHICLE UNLIKE CHEVYS TOP SPORTS CAR IS PRICELESS. YOU KNOW THAT GUY IN THE CHEVY  NEVER SEEN IT COMIN. THE RIGHT TO SAY  I SMOKED A BRAND NEW CORVETTE , NOW THERE'S SOME BRAGGIN RIGHTS PERIOD.

#1  1986 and a half Honda Accord LX-I. the first half a year of the fuel  injected Accords. 4 dr, 5spd

 

 These were the only 2 pics i could find. She was ol reliable ,  290,000 on original motor , that's a Honda for ya!

 

#2 95 Acura Integra GSR, 2 dr, with Black GSR leather , custom paint  House of color  Ginger and Acura CL front. I named her Ginger

 

 A few 2 or 3 years later since pickin up the accord i finnally got my first integra. I loved that car  so much, but honestly only had it on the road for all most a month, till bein young and dumb caught up with me.

TILL I FUCKIN ROLLED IT 6 FUCKIN TIMES!

TALK ABOUT FEELIN LIKE A LOOSER. I'LL NEVER FORGET THAT DAY. THE THOUGHT OF TELLIN AND EXPLAINING IT TO ANYONE MADE ME SICK. I WALKED AWAY WITH ONLY A BRUISE FROM MY SEATBELT, BUT SEEIN MY CAR UPSIDE DOWN IN THE DITCH, I WISHED I WOULDA DIED. TALK ABOUT LOOSIN ALL YOUR PRIDE IN THE MATTER OF SECOUNDS.

But the heart of my car was still good and untouched

Then i had to figure out was i gonna sell it , or strip the good and find a new body to bring my Ginger back to life? I decided to strip it all down without a real clue about what i was gettin myself into. And no one wanted to help me, they all said jus sell it and buy something else , but i knew what i had and i wanted it back. My friends would stand around smokin herb watchin me work, they thought i was jus goin a lil nutty from the wreck, but i had a dream and i was following it.  I labeled everything , drew pictures and kept a lil notebook to add notes to and keep a plan of what exactly i  was plannin to do. It's rough round my parts, cause i didn't have any experienced help or direction. But i figured  out a lot of shit takin it a part.

After the accident is when i really got deep in the whole Honda Game.

 

THAT WAS WHEN THE HOBBY TURNED INTO A WAY OF LIFE!

A new beginning, my secound chance

This is the only pic i have of it, when i got it, it was stripped down. No bumpers, hood, frt or rear lights, no seats, bare ass dash, no fenders, door panels, obviously no motor or tranny, brake calipers, or even a freakin steering wheel. But no dents, both doors all glass with tint, besides the windshield, i saw it as a dream comin true.

At the time i was wanting a show car. So i cleaned and painted everything. Even the whole underneath as you can see on the picture below to the left.

 

 That's hard when it's your daily driver, and you live where it always RAINS!

I know what your thinkin bout when you see that frt bumper, RICER! I know, i know

but at the time i needed a new one so i thought it would be cool to get a body kit. That was a headfache from the day i ordered it, but live and learn right ?

A few months later still workin on ol Ginger, and the young girl is my daughter.

Had to ditch them 3 spoked blade wheels, they were 18's by 225, way to big for a teg. They rubbed bad!!

Ended up scorin some Konigs and

hooked up on some Type-R taillights.

 Before i got my new shell, i spent much of my time polishing and painting parts on my motor so when the time came, it would be all ready to drop in.

took forever, not havin the proper tools and lack of experience or knowledge.

Why you think my valve cover is missin the DOHC and vtec letters? Cause tryin to polish around them is hard and i jus couldn't get it to look right , so i jus ended up sanding her smooth. I liked it though, cause it gave it that clean smooth look. 

 

Ditched the dark bronze konigs for these chrome 5 spoke 17's. Things looked to be really turning around for me. I felt like i was all most where i left off before i wrecked the first time.

 

 

Then one day one of my buddies called me up wonderin if i would be interested in pickin up an older Integra for real cheap. I said how cheap and what's wrong with it. He said he knew someone really stressed for cash and would take like 500 for it. He said it was his buddies project car that he was pieceing together , then lost interest, started drugs and jus wanted to cluck it off like everything else he had. So i went to check it out and ended up pickin it up 300. Cash always talks especially to a fiending ass tweeker. It was rough, but all i really wanted was the motor and tranny.

Yeah, i thought i got a good deal, i was glad to be able to say i own 2 Integras.

Not to long after the show, a buddy and i were crusin down to another BUD's house when all of a sudden.........................!!!!  BAM

THIS 16 YEAR OLD KID IN DADS FORD PICKUP DECIDED TO PULLOUT IN FRONT OF ME AND T-BONE MY FRT FENDER /DRIVERDOOR.

I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT, AGAIN!!

ALL I COULD THINK OF WAS STARTING ALL OVER AGAIN

AND LUCKY FOR ME , NO INJURIES, BESIDES ANOTHER

BROKEN HEART.

BUT HONESTLY IT GETS EASIER THE SECOUND TIME AROUND

 

 

 

 

After the accident i saw this

 #5     1992 Acura Integra GS  2dr automatic 

 wouldn't start, needed distributor and battery, mold growin everywhere on the door panels, dash, even the steering wheel, all from sitting for 6 months.The mold was so strong it burned your eyes to sit in it even with the doors open.  For 800 bucks on payments, seemed fair to me

i KNOW AUTOMATIC, my intentions were to swap everything from the 97 , but after driving it around for a while i had a change of heart.  It didn't feel as comfortable as my DC2 .I guess i felt like it really wasn't my style. I like the more smoothed  out interior panels and free flowing dash. I guess the interior of the DA's resemble too closely to the old Accord i had. She cleaned up pretty good after days of scrubbing and hours of waxing , a fluid tranfusion, new ghetto rigged  cold air intake, new battery, rear bumper  and newer projection headlights . i posted her up on Craig's list for a few months. No luck, jus a bunch of flakes and window shoppers.

 

Then one day  came across this

Dude wanted 200 bucks , i figured i would buy it to fix my 97. So took a trip north to

 

 

and got me a frt clip.

Now here's a project i still haven't

finnished. There is jus so much work  to do  , if one were to do it the right and safe way.  Hopefully someday i'll  get to it, probably not, knowin me it's gonna get traded or sold off on Craigs list.
