Sir James Galway: Dear John, I listened to your playing and loved it . Best wishes,Sir James. Irish born flautist presently living and working in the Netherlands.
Studied flute with Prof. Doris Keogh at The Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin, and later continued my studies of flute and improvisation with Dick Gout and Ferdinand Povel at the Rotterdam Conservatory. Besides teaching flute, I'm experimenting with creating frameworks for improvisation using computer based programs and sound loops and recording these pieces at my own Overloop Studio in Nijmegen . I participated "virtually" in the multimedia performances of Christopher Hedge and the Magnetic Poets at the Piazza Solferino during the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino with a piece on alto flute. The piece opens citing the Negro spiritual classic "Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child".
In the depths of this feeling of utter aloneness which is known to all of us we may indeed discover that we are al(l)-one. Watch the latest video featuring Gordon Brownlow on guitar: Enlightened Path Also check out the new Trio Alt page and videos.
