John McKellar M.Ed. B.A. Dip. Drama

" Hands - on " education consultancy for staff development and modelling effective learning.

I'm an experienced teacher with 27 years of classroom practice and 9 years developing teachers' professional skills in both primary and secondary schools.  I've worked freelance providing INSET for two years now in schools from Rochdale to Newcastle On Tyne.

These CPD programmes have been tried and tested in a range of primary and special schools and are designed to address real issues facing schools today, such as effective questioning, thinking skills, drama skills and active learning strategies.

They're designed to impact within a PD Day providing staff with information and strategies but also requesting personal and shared reflection on teaching and learning practices.

My hope is that staff will be encouraged and resourced to use active learning strategies in their everyday teaching and engage in problem-solving activities using drama, collaborative learning and thinking skills.
