Opportunities to Study Abroad Re: Joint Israeli–Palestinian Summer Programme on: Political Science and Middle East Studies Centre of Middle East and Religious Studies Israel, 5th- 30th July, 2012 We are happy to announce the official opening of the registration to the next session “Political Science and Middle East Studies " which will be held between 5-30 July, 2012. The main goal of this programme is to enable participants to form their unique personal impressions of the region, by providing a framework that allows for immediate and unfiltered exposure to the daily realities as experienced by the peoples in the region. Through lectures and study tours, participants will gain a better understanding of the range of responses offered by the religiously and ethnically varied populations to the complex issues routinely encountered in this region. In the last programme we had post graduates and university students from Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, South Korea, UK, Nigeria, Tanzania, and USA. Please see the list of participants’ institutes can be found on: http://www.galilcol.ac.il/middle-east/contents/page.asp?contentPageID=121 We expect that this programme will attract worldwide participants, interested in the present situation of the Middle East. We believe that the complexities of the region are better understood when one actually sees for one’s self. Thisprogramme is based on the previous successful ones, with the addition of the latest, most relevant topics. See quotes from some of our graduates: http://www.galilcol.ac.il/contents/page.asp?contentPageID=207 The programme will also include events that allow first hand exposure to the Israeli – Palestine conflict: meeting with Palestinian NGOs; a visit to the West Bank; meetings with people from Arab villages in Israel; a panel discussion with representatives from Israeli political parties across the political spectrum and much more. We would appreciate you bringing this programme to the attention of the students at your university. A limited number of tuition scholarships will be available to qualified candidates. Internship Opportunities Here are a few opportunities for students to gain valuable, real-world experience AND some college credit at the same time. Students first need to meet the requirements of the internship-offering institution and be accepted by that institution before signing up for credit. If a student wants college credit for the internship, there are additional academic requirements that go along with the internship work, like writing a paper, keeping a journal, and reading outside publications relevant to the work or organization. |
