Hex (def’n) [verb]  1 : to put a hex on  2 : to affect as if by an evil spell

Hex was originally a drummer for hardcore and post-hardcore screamo bands during punk rock’s second wave, where he was educated in the purpose of underground music:  a revolt against the political and economic forces that constrain human thought, action and freedom.  After training as a jazz percussionist, drumming maniacally for thrashcore outfits and a decade of listening to hard gangster rap, he turned his attention to the insurgent sounds of hard techno, break beats and jungle and stepped into the world of electronic music with one mission:  to bring the ruckus with the hardest, most complex and intense jungle to the ears of the massive.  

After five years of devastating hardcore crews with totally mental selections and old school mixes, Hex has earned a reputation in the jungle scene synonymous with skull crushing bass and explosive, bone-snapping breaks that rival the hardest hitters in the industry and shake the foundations of any venue.  Hex concentrates on precise mixes rather than FX and likes to spice his sets with melodic, vocal and psychedelic jungle over his trademark evil style that is highly appealing to female ravers and drum-and-bass oriented crews.

When Hex isn’t busy trying to break the sound barrier on the decks he is a scientific researcher specializing in brain and behaviour, bioelectromagnetics and virtual drug discovery.  He earned a combined degree in Biology and Psychology, and has had his research co-authored and published with a world-renowned neuroscientist.
