Hi. My name is Jim Rae and I'm running for the SFUO Board of Administration (BOA) Faculty Director for the Faculty of Science. Sorry the site took so long to put up, I'm rather web-inexperienced.

 

I believe that things at the SFUO need to change. Dave Atkinson summed the problems up well in his article "Sock it to 'em!" in the Fulcrum's January 22-28th edition. He mentioned the fact that SFUO hiring practices are questionable, their meetings are closed and unrecorded, and their choices of where and how to spend money and time need examination. He also makes one other very important point: it takes a lot of time and effort to be a candidate. While this is especially true of the Presidential campaigns, it is true of the BOA as well. As such, I'm running a low impact campaign. This means a low impact on your finances, a low impact on the environment, and a low impact on my grades. I will not be printing a single poster this campaign, nor will I be spending one cent of the $75 allowance the SFUO has given to BOA candidates. I will be speaking to classes whenever I can, and would like to get to know as many of you as possible.

 

My main issues are dropping tuition fees, environmental responsibility, and increased student representation.

Bonjour. Je m'appel Jim Rae et je suis un candidate pour la Conseil d'Administration de la FEUO. Je m'exuse pour mon français, j'ai commencé récemment de m'enseigner cette belle langue, mais c'est un travail en cours.

 

Je croix que la situation au FEUO doit changer. Ses practiques d'engager les emplois sont doutex, ses séances sont fermées et n'ont pas enregistré, et ses decisions de depenser notre argent et ses temps doivent être scruté. J'essaye faire un campagne de basse impression. Je veux faire un basse impression sur votre finances, un basse impression sur l'environnement, et un basse impression sur mes notes. Je ne depenserai pas l'argent que le FEUO a donné aux candidates de CA, et je ne ferais pas les affichages. Je veux parler avec la pluparte des gens qui je peux, et les suggestions et questions sont bienvenues.

 

Mes préoccupations premières sont abasser les frais, la responsabilité environnementale, et meilleur representation pour étudiants et étudiantes.
