The rhythm track built in to the MRS-8 is one of the most misunderstood features. I get the impression that a lot of people simple use it as metronome then add drums later using PC software. This is a real shame. Percussion is vital to the feel of a song, not only the speed and strength dictating your speed and strength when playing but also the beat timings and pauses should influence the rest of the song, as would happen in any good song writing session. If you have used the MRS8 (if you haven't used it yet, take a step backwards and see the 'straight out of the box guide') you will know that if you hit play on a new project a simple drum pattern will play repeatedly. This is pattern '000' aka '08BEAT01'. By default the Rhythm unit is set to play in pattern mode.... |
