Monday, November 2, 2009Why Should Serbia Allow Mladic To Be Tried At The Hague's ICC At All ?![]() United States : Why Should Serbia Allow Mladic To Be Tried At The Hague's ICC At All ? By Jill L Starr I am a strong believer in equitably applied international criminal justice; not just what is customarily acceptable. However, I don’t believe the ICC works like this owing to genuinely witnessing aforementioned ICC Preparatory meetings in NYC at the United Nations as specified in my book. Many scholars such as Noam Chomsky argue whether the newly emergant international criminal court is a fair institution. However, I am perhaps the only person able and willing to testify to it’s true equity and application of international criminal justice insofar as persons accused of war crimes in the former Yugoslavia. I genuinely attest to facts I heard in that meeting at the United Nations, supposedly a closed privy meeting. What I saw and heard troubles me. I WOULD NOT want to be tried there myself for any crimes I ever was accused of; this changes everything for Mladic and others. Were their verdicts fair? Should war criminals be tried at the Hague at all (?) I await comments. I genuinely witnessed at the ICC Preparatory meeting the ICC’s inequity of applying international criminal justice as the United Nations ambassadors’ discussed it. Until my allegations are fully investigated as inquiry of fact, Should Mladic be tried there? Do my comments give Karadzic’s attorney fuel to possibly overturn his verdict. I love controversy? I am truthfully stating facts which are verifiable. I await to hear from you all. |
