Wherefore Medicare Necessitates Radical and Rabid Reform in America: In Loving Memory of Doctor Charlotte Puick (Oakland New Jersey)
I
wanted to write something in loving memory about my former psychiatrist
from Oakland, New Jersey, Doctor Charlotte Piuck. She was nearly 100
years old when she passed away in December last year. Extremely sad hearing the news, I found out only when calling her
home in Oakland, New Jersey, when not hearing from her for several
months. She used to call me to come pick her up and share tea at a
nearby local diner every month or so, even after losing the right to
practice medicine in the State of New Jersey owing to her billing the
U.S. Medicare program for a couple of telephone consultations in which
she tried talking a former mentally ill patient of her’s living in
Florida from committing suicide, who called her in the middle of the
night.
