Comparative Study of Eye Witness Diplomatic Testimony of the Clinton Administration and Slobodan Milosevic

I really like the book Stay the Hand of Vengeance by Gary Bass. I especially like it because it manifests exactly what I myself mean when saying, as a sociologist, people regularly engaging in acts of military and criminal violence manifest it beyond a reasonable doubt in their own personal actions, especially, in their spoken rhetoric.

Although spending years working closely with and being friends with Darko Trifunovic, I never once heard one violent diplomatic comment emanate from him or anyone else associated with the former Yugoslavia.

For example, I never once heard even one comment even remotely related to the types of violent comments emanating daily out of the mouth of Richard Holbrook, former United States President William Jefferson Clinton in 1993 and their staff such as this one->

“we’re not inflicting enough pain on those fuckers...When people kill us, they should be killed in greater numbers...I (Bill Clinton) believe in killing people who try to hurt you, I can’t believe we’re being pushed around by these two-bit pricks.” (Stephanopoulos: All Too Human, pp. 214)
