This album-in-process is the result of heeding God's voice when He so many times said to me, "Sing... a new song..."
God ministered to me as I wrote these songs, the melodies and words flowed easily, and they chronicle much of my life to this point, figuratively and/or literally. A parched and lonely daughter, I knew basically who my Father was, but for one reason or another, I wandered in the wilderness (and for far too long.) Abba continues to gently and firmly lead me out and into a beautiful and glorious place. Now, to stay planted in this new place-- being found in Him, abiding and drinking from the well that never runs dry-- and to be fruit-bearing is a prayer you might lovingly offer up for me. Thankfully, it continues to be
“…God who is at work in [me,] both to will and to work for His good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13)
Music Notes
I was 40 when the songs were fleshed out and completed. Now, it's a matter of one by one getting them in and out of the studio, then song to ear. Recently, I was greatly blessed to share several pieces with the church my mom and dad attended when they began their life together. It was a symbolic beginning for my journey with this project. The presentation of the album is a bit unorthodox in that it will be released song by song--track by track--as they become available. As well, this is phase one of project one, so please bear with me knowing I may be closer to 50 when it is all said and done. I hope the songs will speak to you.
