About Me I'm a third-year PhD student in Database Group, Yale University. My research interests include semantic web, distributed computing, graph data management and social network analysis. I'm currently working on SW-Store, a distributed data management system for semantic web, with Prof. Daniel Abadi. In 2011, I spent a beautiful summer in Data Management, Exploration, and Mining (DMX) Group at Microsoft Research, working with Zhimin Chen, Arvind Arasu and Vivek Narasayya. Before coming to Yale, I received my master degree from Oxford and my research mostly focused on probabilistic databases. I built MayBMS and SPROUT with Dr. Dan Olteanu and Prof. Christoph Koch. Prior to that, I received my BS in Fudan University, Shanghai.
Publications
Personal Outside of work, I enjoy various sports and outdoor activities: Hiking: Kamil introduced me to hiking and keeps inspiring me. Just came back from a one-week hiking trip in Big Bend National Park. Road running: Dreaming of qualifying for Boston Marathon someday, when I will be able to keep my current 5K pace in a marathon or old enough. Trail running: It gets the best of both worlds of hiking and running. Picked it up during my summer internship in Seattle, where great trails were abundant. Football: Or should I say soccer? A big fan of Manchester United since The Treble. Mostly play with Hongqiang and Xiaoxiao. Squash: Currently practicing to challenge Fitz. Sometimes I play with my advisor (don't tell him I always pretend to lose). Badminton: David is training day and night to beat me, which probably will never happen. Barefooting: I play all my sports in barefoot or Five Fingers (I know, they are ugly). |
