President: Samantha Pflum

I'm a senior psychology major and art history minor. I'm from New Jersey and have been dancing with the JHU Modern Dance Company since the beginning of my freshman year. Overall, I have been dancing for sixteen years and am classically trained in modern, ballet, jazz, lyrical, and tap. Modern dance has always been my primary interest, so the Modern Dance Company here at Hopkins was the perfect opportunitity for me to continue pursuing my love of dance.

Co-President: Catherine Colwell

Hi! My name is Catherine Colwell and I'm a senior at Johns Hopkins currently majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Math and Statistics. I'm from Minnesota (yay!), where I danced competitively for 13 years in lyrical, tap, jazz and ballet at StageDoor of Performing Arts. My dance background is more heavily based in lyrical and I have been fortunate enough to work with choreographers like Mandy Moore, Mia Michaels (may recognize from So You Think You Can Dance haha) and Mark Meismer. I'm in the Phi Mu sorority and the Society of Women Engineers here at Hopkins. I've been dancing and performing with Hopkins Modern Company for four years now and am really passionate about it.

Vice President: Emily Moore

Hello! I am a junior Public Health Major and a Music minor. This is my third year in the JHU Modern Company and I'm still loving it. I've danced since I was 5, ballet, tap, jazz and theatre dance at Coupe Dance Studio. I'm also in the Hopkins Symphony Orchestra playing viola. Performing arts here at Hopkins have saved me from the woes of a stressed pre-med.

Treasurer: Lauren McGrath

My name is Lauren McGrath, and I'm a senior Writing Seminars and Anthropology major. This is my second year dancing and performing for the Company. I helped write a grant last year to add dance classes to the Hopkins curriculum - we're currently running two classes, and I'm trying to add even more, semester by semester. In my free time, I like to paint and read Russian novels (and celebrity tabloids). Random fact: I once crashed a wedding with Marylin, Ezra, Amanda, Jen, and Brittany.
