About the Home

This home sits on .57acers, located in the Aggies’s Acres development on the south side of Lake Calamus, would make a great vacation retreat or a nice change of life style for someone looking for permanent residence. As the contractor, I started construction in the spring of 2001 for a recreation home for my parents who now live there year round.

This winter, construction was continued to finish the basement and the loft area over the garage with the completion estimated  to be the summer  of 08.  When finished, there will be a total of 2190 square feet of livable area.

The main area consists of a Great room with an open kitchen, over 16’ high cathedral ceiling, lots of light and a wood burning stove. The appliances are all new with dishwasher, refrigerator with ice machine and a Jen-Air range/oven with down draft vent.  Knotty pine logs trim this area with matching cabinets.  The covered deck on this level shares the same great view of the trees below and the lake in the background.  There’s no way I can explain this layout, it has to be personally experienced.  The main bathroom, a bedroom and an entry complete this floor for a total of 1004 square feet finished,  430 square foot garage and an 8’ x 24’ covered deck.

The upper level consists of two separate loft areas.  One, which sits above the great room, can be used as a bedroom or den.  It comes with the same great view of the lake as the lower level and is very private. This 318 square foot room includes a storage area.  Adjacent to this area is a separate loft overlooking the front entry and stairwell. This room can also be used as a bedroom or den and has a half bath and a closet with a large storage area.  424square feet plus the other 318 will make a total of 742 square feet of finished space.

The lower level has a 12.5’ x 24’ family room, bedroom and laundry. The family room has 9’ ceiling to accommodate the 6’ patio door with sidelight and transom opening to a lower level covered patio. The bedroom has a nice sized closet and a large window for plenty of sunlight. The laundry is a bathroom as well with a large walk-in shower. The washer and dryer put in new in January 2008, stay with the home.   444 square feet of living space plus the laundry room complete this level.

The exterior was designed to have very low maintenance. Forest green steel roofing matching green trim accents the premium high profile sage vinyl siding. The driveway and lower level patio is constructed of red European pavers. The covered deck is made of Terex brand composite lumber with real cedar on the back exterior wall for a nice warm rustic look that everyone enjoys.

This is a real must see to appreciate place.  There’s so much to see that words and pictures fail to show properly.
