Married to a Jehovah's Witness

My husband and I vowed to respect each other's different beliefs, and not to try and convert that other. That works with varying success. It is especially difficult for my husband as his instruction is to be a good example towards conversion. From the society's own literature, "The Secret of Family Happiness", it states, "With your loving consideration, in time she may be helped to embrace true worship. - Collossians 3:12-14; 1 Peter 3:8, 9."

That isn't particularly helpful, considering my evangelical church expects me to do the same for my husband. Our differences in belief and practice make for a peculiar tension in our home. Nearly every family and celebratory event become a challenge in negotiation and compromise.

My favorite discussion page, which will sadly be shutting down at the end of 2008 is, www.jehovahs-witness.com . I've posted thousands of comments there under "jgnat".
