Jesse F. Tanner, M.T.S.

Bio:

My name is Jesse Tanner and I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Comparative Religion at University of the West in Rosemead, CA. I hold a Master of Theological Studies in New Testament Theology from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary/Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.

My areas of academic interest are centered on personal spiritual development in Buddhist-Christian dialogue using philosophical hermeneutics as methodology, as well as establishing interreligious dialogue as a relevant and necessary element of Christian theology in a postmodern context of plurality and diversity.

Besides academics, I'm in the process of becoming ordained a minister in my religious tradition, Unity School of Christianity. My personal and professional interests are geared toward building respectful relationships between individuals and among communities in an effort toward greater learning and further spiritual growth.

Buddhist-Christian Dialogue and Spiritual Transformation:

This site is dedicated to providing resources regarding the practice of Buddhist-Christian Dialogue and its study as an academic subject. The research and information included in this site are centered on the writing of a Ph.D. dissertation tentatively entitled, "The Prospect and Presence of Spiritual Transformation in Buddhist-Christian Dialogue," and for the purposes of generating more awareness of interreligious engagement among Buddhists, Christians, and others in an effort towards mutual learning and understanding.
