Although the tombstones are difficult to read, Keith Osher has kindly transliterated and translated  many of them. Using Hebcal, Aaron Ginsburg provided Gregorian dates. Most importantly, Oskar Delyatiki forwarded the pictures from Frank Swartz and kept an eye on the whole process.

The pre-war Jewish community of Novogrudok numbered about 6000. More than 10000 Jews, most from Novogrudok and the district,  were killed in Novogrudok and, except for 52, were not buried at the Jewish cemetery. We could not locate the place where the 52 victims were buried in the cemetery on the 26 of July 1941. 250 Jews escaped from the Ghetto through a 250 m tunnel, of those 170 reached the Bielski partisans and survived, the others were killed on the way, most, I believe, by local peasants.
