NEA events range from the huge National Annual meeting to weeks of recognition. The National Annual Meeting needs a place all it's own so I have put more information linked at the bottom of this page. Other, more emminent or ongoing, events will be described below:
- In collaboration with the NEA foundation the NEA awards $1000 in donations to schools of underpriviledged students. These awards are made possible by donations from members and the general public.
- This annual celebration of Educators and what they do is something that every school can participate in using the handy Toolkit. It is a week of events which includes an Open House, A Parent's Day (where the parents can learn what everyday life is for their child in the classroom), Educator For a Day (where leaders in the community can learn-first hand-how life is like in the day of a teacher) and two recognition days (one for full time Educators and one for Substitutes)
- A meeting designed for NEA members across the country (I have linked the overall conference info page above) who wish to become more involved and gain more understanding in NEA policies and strategies.
