Thank you for your interest in Jersey Shore Sound. I'm your host, Colie Brice - a musician and sound technician in and around the Jersey Shore for many years. I was also an archivist at one of the biggest record companies in the world (PolyGram), VP of marketing and communications at the world's most famous audiophile companies (Classic Records, Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab), and on the GRAMMY (NARAS) Committee for Preservation and Technology for 7 years.
I never intended to be a DJ.. In fact, Jersey Shore Sound was born, oddly enough via my efforts as a volunteer firefighter. Our company was looking for ways to save money, so I volunteered to DJ/MC,etc for our public events, fundraisers, etc. Soon the guys started asking me to DJ Anniversary Parties, Sweet 16s, and so on.
I ended up really liking it and found that my knowledge of pop music, jazz, rock, and other genres from the earliest recorded music, Hit Parade era, big band jazz, all the way through to classic rock and contemporary hits awarded me with a unique capability for "connecting the dots" in mixed crowds from 8 to 80.
I have an extremely empathetic approach to my playlist. First and foremost, I cater to my client and their guests. Secondly, I read the crowd and direct the flow of energy so everyone feels included and truly a part of the special event.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing a couple celebrating 50 years of marriage and getting misty eyed while hearing the songs they initially fell in love to. Few things are more fun than watching a couple dance to an old disco classic for the first time in 20 years and just not giving a damn!
I don't try to be "too cool". If you want to hold your gal tight while listening to some good ole country music, that's fine by me. If you want to tear the roof off with some thunderous rock & roll - better yet!
Maybe you want to have an event that is primarily DJ'd but need a killer singer to to sing that one special song - I play a mean guitar, double on keys and my voice has been described as a cross between Jon Bon Jovi and Freddie Mercury. I can sing blues, pop, standards, and rock & roll. I am also connected to and work with some of the best musicians the world renown Asbury Park music scene has to offer, so be assured that I can tailor a sonic solution for even the most eclectic, esoteric tastes imaginable.
Essentially, I'll work with you to craft a unique and creative experience that your guests will truly enjoy.
