February 2009One-twelfth of the year is gone with this the last week of January 2009 and Drea is off to Huntington, Indiana starting her new career as a University student and loves it. We cashed in her college fund, when it was close to a break even point, so she could go this semester and not have any debt. Now next year we are praying that she will get lots of grants and scholarships, we found a free website that has loads of possible scholarships to apply for. If any of you know of possible scholarship for her to apply for please let us know. Laura is volunteering 15- 20 hours a week at the High Desert Pregnancy Clinic, teaching and counseling women and helping them before, during and after pregnancy. She is also starting a bible study assisting in recovery after an abortion. Frequently, she talks to clients asking about abortion, she then does what is called informed consent counseling, trying to get all the facts, feelings and resources out on the table so that an informed decision can be made. Laura must be nonjudgmental, that does not mean she is approving of the persons action. It must be remembered that the client would not be requesting an abortion if she felt it were morally wrong. Mostly the client is requesting an abortion because of problems in her life that make her feel that bringing a pregnancy to term is too much for her now and she feels that she cannot respond to a baby in her future. By Listening with an accepting and a nonjudgmental attitude Laura can help her gain inner strength and gain control of her feelings. This will help her feel able to take care of the child within her and she will be more willing to have her baby. Mike is still working at Biglots about 24 hr. per week. We are very thankful that God has provided this avenue of income. We are excited to start bible school, just waiting on His timing for selling our place here and heading to Wyoming. Otherwise, Mike is singing on the worship team at church and we are looking into facilitating another bible study next month. Mike will also begin to contact local pastors regarding participation in the Pregnancy clinic’s Walk for Life. We are still waiting on the Lord to sell our home so we can begin our at Frontier School of the Bible. Pray for God’s provision for us to go to Frontier by selling our home. Praise for Gods provision in so many wonderful ways. Praise for each of you, our faithful friends for your prayers and support. Pray that God will protect and strengthen Drea as she begins this new era of her life. Praise for AnDrea’s acceptance to the women’s vocal ensemble at school. Pray for Mike and Laura and their empty nest. Praise for Laura’s service at the Clinic as she counsels women. Pray for all the women who come into the clinic. Pray for those women who are abortion minded - pray that they will feel God’s presence in their great time of need. We pray God’s blessing upon each of you in your faithfulness to Him.
