The Jenny Kent Home was originally built in 1905 by the Yuma School teacher Jenny Kent ,who taught at the Second Avenue Secondary School across the street from her house. The original part of the house with floors and stairs from 1905 remain intact. The Jenny Kent Home sits on a hill overlooking the original Yuma downtown and is among the few downtown residences to survive the Colorado River flood of 1920.
The Jenny Kent Home is listed in The Arizona State Historical Property Inventory , and has recently undergone extensive restoration with the aid of the Arizona State Parks Grants Section Historical Preservation Heritage Fund and Yuma CrossingNational Heritage Area.
