About me.... I grew up in northern California and went to U.C. Davis for my undergraduate degree in biological sciences. During and after college I worked as a wildlife biologist for the U.S. Forest Service, and the Calif. Department of Water Resources. After moving to Oregon I worked for the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and the Oregon Fish & Wildlife Department and attended Oregon State University. Eventually I decided to earn a Ph.D. and enrolled in the graduate programs of the Fisheries & Wildlife Department and the Ecology, Evolutionary Biology & Behavior Program of Michigan State University. About my teaching.... I am a faculty member of the Biology Department at Sierra College, California. During Fall 2009 I will be teaching lecture and lab sections of General Biology (001). Prior to joining the faculty at Sierra College I taught majors and non-majors biology at the College of Southern Nevada. About my research.... My research to date has been centered on the Michigan Gap Analysis Project, landscape ecology, and conservation biology.
